San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victorville Station Deputy Matthew Baltierra was recognized at the Victor Valley Union High School District’s March 15 board meeting for going above and beyond to help a local student who had been a victim of abuse.

Baltierra handled the victim’s case and then stepped in to help the student when he learned that she might not be able to attend her senior prom. Baltierra bought the student’s prom tickets as well as a prom dress, and arranged to have her hair and nails done. On top of that, Baltierra paid for the student’s grad night and senior yearbook.
