Kim Hayes has been with the Victor Valley Union High School District since 1983.  She joined the Technology Department as a programmer and was instrumental in developing the in house Student Information System that was used in the district until 1992.  She was the programmer for five years after which she took over the position of Director which she still holds today.   In the 27 years in the District she has served in multiple roles throughout the district.   Of course she was a programmer, trainer, helpdesk, and director in IT.  She was also trained in Interest Based Bargaining, Conflict Resolution, and Ventures Interviewing.  She used these skills on the management negotiator team with CSEA and VVTA, and in the resolution of grievances.  She was also part of the team to interview potential new hires to assure quality applicants.  It has been her objective to assist wherever needed, there is no such thing as “not my job”.    

 Kim has seen the district technology growth from 1983 when there was only 1 terminal input at each school, to the purchase of SASI in 1992 with a computer for most staff positions, to the development of Student Remediation labs, to the inclusion of the Internet in every classroom and office in the district with over 3000 computers in the district.  So with every step the District takes from Good to Greatness it is her objective that the technology needed for Greatness will be there.
