Bond Oversight
Citizens Bond Oversight Committee
In November 2024, local residents voted to approve Measures A and X, two general obligation bond measures which will provide up to $360 million in funding for Victor Valley Union High School District facilities. The election results were certified by the VVUHSD Board of Trustees at the Jan. 16, 2025 meeting.
Based on Ed. Code, §§ 15278, 15282, the Board of Trustees must establish an independent Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) 60 days from certifying the election results. The CBOC will review and report on the expenditure of bond funds.
The committee must consist of at least seven members who serve without compensation for no more than three consecutive terms. The CBOC must include all of the following:
— one member who is active in a business organization representing the business community located within the District;
— one member active in a senior citizens’ organization;
— one member who is the parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the District;
— one member who is both a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the District and active in a parent-teacher organization;
— one member who is active in a bona fide taxpayers’ organization.
If you are interested in applying for the CBOC, please complete the application form, which can be done via an online google form, or a fillable PDF form.
