Victor Valley Union High School District students won 28 medals at the recent SkillsUSA Region 6 Conference Skill Events, with 39 students qualifying for the state competition this spring.

SkillsUSA is a national career and technical student organization serving students in training programs in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

Victor Valley High’s career technical education students have been top performers at SkillsUSA for many years now, and the Jackrabbits had another strong showing at the regionals earlier this month. VVHS students won 17 medals in 12 categories including automotive, aviation maintenance, masonry, job skills and medical pathways.

Lakeview Leadership Academy’s robotics students competed at SkillsUSA for the first time and had a strong showing with six medals. LLA won another three medals in the job skills demo and job interview categories.

Adelanto High School took home medals in the automotive and maintenance/light repair categories.
