Assessments;
VVUHSD conducts both formative and summative assessments each year, the results from which drive planning for instruction and remediation. Click here for more information.
State and Federal Accountability:
Local Control Accountability Plan- LCAP
The LCAP is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. The LCAP provides an opportunity for local educational agencies (LEAs) to share their stories of how, what, and why programs and services are selected to meet their local needs. Please click on this link for more info.
School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)
The SPSA is a document that represents a school's cycle of continuous improvement of student achievement. The annual process of developing, reviewing, and updating the SPSA includes a comprehensive review of data and the development of actions necessary to achieve school goals.
VVUHSD submits the LCAP and the sites submit their SPSA for Board approval each year. If you wish to attend and participate in upcoming LCAP planning meetings, please email jmontoya@bvuhsd.org and provide your contact information.
Professional Development:
VVUHSD offers ongoing professional development for teachers and support staff throughout the year. In addition to site and district based professional opportunities, the district shall support workshops and training related to subject content, instructional pedagogy, and school culture. Attached here is the PD calendar for 2020-21 school back. Keep checking this as updates are made regularly.
Distance Learning:
VVUHSD has instituted an extensive online education option and supported the transition to Distance Learning. In part, we have provided students and staff access to Acellus licenses to support access to online materials to supplement classroom curriculum.
Visit the Distance Learning webpage here to access videos and materials.
District wide intervention:
If your student is struggling with academics, please click here to learn about free tutoring and homework help via FEV Tutor. This tutoring service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes supports for students preparing for AP exams. Your school principal can direct you to the personnel who will provide your child with sign-in information.
Additionally, tutoring is also available from teachers through your student's school from 3-4 pm daily and through a district level program from 4-6 pm daily. For more information, please contact your school or send an email to Christine Foote.
Summer School:
VVUHSD offers a summer school every year to support students with credit remediation. The program is being redesigned to include honors boot camp, intensive support with reading and math, and other fun clubs, in addition to credit remediation. Signups will start in March. Parents please check with the school site to get more information.
