CHYA - Positive Prevention+

  • Education Code section 51930, et seq. requires school districts to provide sexual health education and comprehensive HIV prevention training to students in grades 7-12.
  • Effective January 1, 2016, the Legislature has amended the law to provide that sexual health education and HIV/AIDS education are both mandatory for all students.
  • The curricular materials to be used during this training are available for your review upon request at the school main office until March 1st, 2023.
  • If you DO NOT wish to have your student to receive the sexual health and HIV prevention training outlined above, please complete the opt-out information below and return the completed form to your school's office before March 1st, 2023.
