2020-2021 Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan

 

The Board approved and adopted the 2020 Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan on September 17, 2020. The provisions for the plan were approved by the Governor and Legislature in June in SB 98 and can be found in EC Section 43509. It is a requirement for the 2020–21 school year. The Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan (Learning Continuity Plan) is a key part of the overall budget package for K-12 that seeks to address funding stability for schools while providing information at the local educational agency (LEA) level for how student learning continuity will be addressed during the COVID-19 crisis in the 2020–21 school year.  District’s were required to adopt the Plan by September 30, 2020 and submit to the County for additional recommendations. 

  • Not later than five days after the local governing board adopts the Learning Continuity Plan, a school district must file the Plan with its county superintendent of schools, and a County Office of Education (COE) must submit its Plan to the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI)(reviewing authorities). 
  • By October 30, 2020:
    • Reviewing authorities may submit recommendations, in writing, for amendments to the Learning Continuity Plan.

The governing board of a school district or COE shall consider the recommendations submitted by the reviewing authorities in a public meeting within 15 days of receiving the recommendations. 

The VVUHSD Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan 2020-2021, includes the recommendations provided by SBCSS.

The total budgeted amount included in the plan is $ 12,203,565.43 to be paid from Learning Loss Funds. SBCSS made no change recommendations for the budget section of the district’s adopted plan.
