DISTRICT COMPLAINT POLICIES, PROCEDURES AND FORMS

Victor Valley Union High School District is committed to equal opportunities for all persons.

The Victor Valley Union High School District prohibits, at any district school or school activity, unlawful discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying of any student or employee based on the above.  The Victor Valley Union High School District has the responsibility to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations governing education programs.  The District shall investigate any complaint alleging failure to comply with such laws and/or alleging unlawful discrimination and shall seek to resolve those complaints in accordance with the District’s uniform complaint procedures.

NONDISCRIMINATION/ANTI-HARASSMENT STATEMENTS

Victor Valley Union High School District takes all concerns and complaints seriously.  The District values the concerns of our parents, staff, students, and community.  Complaints are respected and honored; there is no negative consequence for filing a complaint.  

The early informal resolution of complaints at the site level is encouraged whenever possible.

GENERAL COMPLAINT FORMS

A general complaint is filed when an issue is not resolved at the site level and it does not fit into either the Williams or Uniform Complaint categories.

WILLIAMS COMPLAINTS

A Williams Complaint concerns deficiencies related to instructional materials, conditions of facilities that are not maintained in a clean or safe manner or in good repair, and teacher vacancies or mis-assignments.  For additional information regarding the Williams Act, please visit the following link:   https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/fa/sf/williams.asp


UNIFORM COMPLAINTS

A Uniform Complaint alleges a violation of federal or state laws governing educational programs, including allegations of unlawful discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying, and failure to comply with laws relating to pupil fees.
