For his standout academic performance and great attitude, Lakeview Leadership Academy ninth-grader Sean Driscoll has been chosen as the Victor Valley Union High School District Student of the Month.

Sean has earned a 4.0 GPA and is first in his class of 90 ninth-grade students at Lakeview.

He has also competed in cross country for the school, and Coach Jesus (Danny) Garcia said Sean is “a model student-athlete” who is “friendly, polite and well-behaved.”

LLA teacher Rob Hellebrand said Sean “often stays after school to help a bit with cleaning the room or to ask clarifying questions. He has received grades of either A or A+ throughout his academic career here. He gets along well with his peers as well as staff. He has overcome some difficulties in his life to become exceptional.”

Another teacher, Banae Kirby, said Sean is an “excellent student of character and work ethic.”

Sean, 14, said he has lived with his mother in Spring Valley Lake since 2012 and has attended Lakeview since the seventh grade. He said his favorite subjects are math and science.

“Sean Driscoll is an insanely hard worker who is dedicated to the job of learning,” LLA teacher Doug Kubacki said. “He comes daily ready and willing with an open mind and a willingness and passion to learn. He is friendly, polite and always appreciative of those around him. He is truly a model student.”
